Combining authentic Jazz dance, classic burlesque and spectacular Art Nouveau-inspired costumes.
Born in a Russian academic family in the very heart of Moscow, Anja Pavlova has gone a long way to become a dreamer and a dancer that she is now.
Having spent, like any Russian girl, a considerable amount of time studying music and ballet and getting a serious academic degree, she has discovered the art of Burlesque in 2011 and never looked back. Since then, her obsession with early 20th century art and entertainment has paid off and taken her on a marvellous journey around the globe, bringing her signature 1920s-inspired burlesque to the stages from Saint Petersburg to San Francisco, Stockholm to Beirut and beyond.
Anja’s brand of burlesque is poetic, emotional and romantic, combining American jazz music and dance with fascination with classic Russian and European art, beautiful costumes and innovative use of props.
A list of Anja's most notable performances includes - Stockholm Burlesque Festival 2014, Cabaret Turandot in Moscow, Fraulein Frauke Presents - Bohemian Spring Ball, Berlin Burlesque Week Gala 2016, Geneva Burlesque festival 2017, etc. She also performed at private and corporate parties for the likes of GazProm, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, French Chamber of Commerce in Russia etc.
Since July 2017 Anja lives in Berlin, Germany.
